Concrete Staircase Form

Here come the stairs! We chose concrete for durability - wood looks nice but the constructor preferred to work with concrete. They are nice and wide, which is good - about 1.2m. This gives plenty of space for moving most furniture.

However, the height between the third step and the ceiling is only 1.9m, which means it may be tricky to get a nice big mattress upstairs. We will have to settle for a smaller one, which is ok too.

It's all because the house is quite small and we chose to have a bigger bedroom upstairs at the expense of having more than 1.9m on the stairs.

Another thing with the stairs, which it would have been nice to think about before pooring the concrete in the mold, is that each step (and riser) will have some kind of material laid on top. The thickness of this material will affect the height of the step. So it is too late for us to lay a thick clay tile on the stairs, for example.
