This is the view from the smaller of the two upstairs bedrooms, which we plan to put our son Mateo in on day. The windows are pretty big and east facing so I hope he doesn't get woken up by the morning sun. We will have to make sure he's got decent curtains. Or I like some blinds made from bamboo we've seen...
You can also see the rebar all around the top of the house. The next step is to build a form to poor concrete in so that there is a strong steel reinforced beam to support the roof.
The tree there is a pejibaye. I have no idea how to spell that. It's a nutty fruit of this palm tree that is best boiled and eaten with mayonnaise. The downside is that it has thorny spines all the way up its trunk that would not be nice for Mateo to touch, or for us for that matter.Might be best disappeared...
